Anonymous Authentication

We use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to provide you with a seamless app experience. This creates a temporary, anonymous identifier that allows the app to function properly without requiring personal information like email or phone numbers.

Usage Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our app. This helps us improve ModFoto's features and performance. The analytics data collected includes:

We temporarily process technical data necessary for app functionality, including:

How We Use Your Information

Image Processing

When you request photo modifications, we temporarily send your image to Google Gemini AI for processing. The image is processed in real-time to apply your requested changes and immediately returned to you. No images are stored during or after this process.

App Improvement

We use anonymous analytics data to:

• Understand which features are most popular
• Identify and fix technical issues
• Improve app performance and user experience
• Plan new features and updates

Face Data Privacy

Our commitment to your privacy extends to any face data that may be present in the images you provide. We want to be explicit about how this data is handled:

• Face Data is Not Retained: We do not store, retain, or catalog any face data from your images. All processing is done in real-time, and the data is immediately discarded after the modification is complete.
• Third-Party Processing: To perform the image modifications, we share the image with Google's Gemini AI service. This is the only third party with which the data is shared.
• Reason for Sharing: The sole reason for sharing the image with Google is to use their AI models to apply the edits you request. This is essential for the core functionality of the app.
• Third-Party Data Storage: According to Google's data governance policies for their AI services, they do not store your data or use it to train their models. We operate under the principle of minimal data use and do not store your images or face data on our servers or with our third-party partners beyond the immediate processing time.

Data Storage and Security

Firebase Services

We use Google Firebase services for app infrastructure:

• Firebase Authentication: Manages anonymous user sessions
• Firebase Firestore: Stores minimal app configuration and anonymous usage data

AI Processing

Images are processed using Google Gemini AI for modifications. Gemini processes images in real-time and does not retain them after processing is complete.

Security Measures

We implement appropriate security measures to protect the limited data we do collect:

• All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard protocols
• Anonymous authentication prevents linking data to specific individuals
